What are volcanoes ?

Our planet has 4 layers.
The crust is the thin outer layer around the earth. Under the crust the The next layer is the mantle and it is 1880 km thick. The outer core is made with liquid that is very hot and it is beneath the mantle is the center of the earth is called inner core. The crust is broken into humongous pieces called tectonic plates. The tectonic  plates are moving slowly all the time. When they pull apart, the magma in the mantle will start to push up. When the magma comes to the surface it is called a volcanic eruption. Once the magma comes out it is called lava. When the lava cools down it turns into rock.  As more lava comes out the volcano builds up into a cone shape.

Positive

Farming-did you know that the richest soil is mostly found in a volcanic eruptions. The volcanic eruption can help the vegetables to grow because volcanic rocks are filled with minerals and nutrients.


Negative
Did you know that people drill into the crast of the earth to get the heated water and steam so they can get electricity in the power plants.


In Indonesia at 1815 there was a volcanic eruption and it was one of the world's biggest volcanic eruption. The next summer in America the weather changed and it was very cold and snowy .This  volcanic eruption was so big that the ash blocked out the sunlight.



The ash can stop the plans from flying and if they fly they will crash because when the ash goes into the engine that engine will stop working.

Dear Annique

I really appreciate you for helping us on Masterchef, My excitement got taken away for a sec but as soon as we got announced as the winners I was super surprised and screamed. Everyone in our group was so amazed because we would have not had won the wonderful competition and we would have never won without you. Thank you very much Annique,for helping us to get more ideas for the diner and the pancake also.          

I really really think that you are such a great person and I do think that you are one wonderful person. Thank you so much for helping us on the great big challenge day. Thanks.You helped so much with Nikau hub. Everyone loved you at camp. And the reason why I am writing this letter to you is because you were so amazing to everyone.

Here are my highlights I loved the most. One is the challenge day because it was one of the best day at camp because we had to complete all the tasks and the hardest one of them all was the wet and dry challenge . And my other highlight is the master chef because everyone had to make pancakes and tea for the judge. And my other one was handball because everyone loved it including me.

 As the waves were crashing like the sound of thunder, I jumped into the deep  blue sea.

When I jumped into the sea, I felt something nip my foot “ouch”. I opened my mouth under the water. It was as cold as ice and the water tasted bitter like salt.

I came up but I could not breath. I finally took a breath and started crying I ran towards mum and I told her what happened , so she got my towel  and wrapped  it up me and gave me something to eat.

It was lunchtime my mum and dad made some shortbread! It was so tasty. After our quick snack, we got some delicious  chocolate chip ice cream and pizza.

When we got in the car, a seagull flew into the window and stole my pizza and I said “give me back my pizza you stupid seagull “ I am never eating any food by the beach again.

The seagulls were so annoying when they were swelling because they were hurting my ears.

The hot sand was going between my toes like me stepping in lava. “Ouch” I yelled, the sand was burning my feet like me standing a stove/oven.The sand looks kinda red because it is a very hot day. Finally the tide reached the hot sand and cooled me off. After I had my cool off I asked my parents if they could build a sand castle. “Ah ha we did it” I said loudly,Whoosh, “Oh no” the waves swooped the sand castle away to the sea. Mum and Dad laughed but when they looked at me frowning they stopped laughing.

My mum went to go to MacDonald’s well me and my dad Adam were still in the nice warm tent. Yay mums back with MacDonald. We all gathered around  the fire and we were having tea on the loges. After we had tea we roasted some marshmallows. They were so nice “yum” I said. OMG my dad drop his stick and the marshmallow in the fire, I was laughing my head off. My sister Tyla was laughing as well just like the rest of us.

What went well for me was adding enough detail and putting picture in the reader's head. Something that also did good was having complex sentences.

Five facts about me

My first day at school was awesome because I got to meet everyone but I  mostly knew them, anyawy. My favourite part about the day was the art work because it was fun and we got to draw.

Something that I like to do is drawing because when I do drawings it me think of things the have been in the past.

Something that I like to do is gimnastices because I always learn something new.

Something that I also like to do is music.ly.
Music.ly is when u have to lip sing to the songs.

Something that I like to do is playing with my two sisters one of them is cold Maddison and she is the uongst and the other one is cold Tula and she is the middle of three of them.

Something that I also like to do is playing with my friend Alyssa and we always play mincart.

All about me

Best Memory[a]	my much loved hobby	what makes me laugh	fun fact about me
My best memory was  when my mum said that we are going to get kittens I screamed in excitement  because I have always wanted kittens. We came home with a cat called Felix he is Black and white with a little tabby.	My much loved hobby is drawing.my favorite thing to draw is a kawaii pikachu.  This is how I make my pikachu I start with the ears.    Then I draw the outline of the face. Then I draw the body and the feet . And last  I colour it in yellow and brown.	Last week I invited sienna over for a sleepover. Then we thought of a great idea. We grabbed the glad wrap from in the draw, we got my mum to glad wrap our legs and we bounced our way to the tramp. Once we got on we bounced until we fell over.	A fun fact about me is that I like to have sleepovers With Sienna. When Sienna stays over we always glad wrap the toilet. Every time We have to hide the glad wrap under my pillow ,once we heard that she was asleep we quickly layered the toilet with glad wrap.

I have been learning to find information about what  athletes eat. I had to find information and key words. And then I had to put the key words into my own sentences.and I also had to put the key words into my own sentences.  Something that challenged me was reading the information and and having to go back  and change stuff if it didn't make sense.I am really proud of work because I have made lots of people wanting to read it. I also like how I added the heart with the fruit because if anyone reads this they will know to eat healthy and the rings are the colors of the flag witch I really like.                                                                                          

Courtney McGregor Gymnastics

Something that I am prowed  of in my learning is sharing my information I learnt about gymnastics. I enjoyed learning about it because I liked watching the videos and seeing Courtney McGregor trying. I learnt to write information in my own words. I used the persevernace learning mussle because I kept working and working.  

matariki

We have been leaning about Matariki. Matariki is all about the Maori New year.

We have been learning to making  tukutuku  panels.  Something that challenged me was getting the pattern right because it was hard to get the crosses right. I had to pull those pieces out and start those pieces again. I asked someone else to help me so they could show me what to do to get the crosses right.

I learnt how to thread string through the wood to make a pattern and show a picture. I stretched my perseverance muscles for this learning.

I have done my writing about the three little pigs but have made my writing called the three little kittens. I am proud of my writing because I have worked hard to put detail into my writing. This part of my writing is the part where I have added lots of detail:

Here is my whole story:

On one lonely day the three little kittens went home mother says we have to move out of home but watch out for the big bad dog. The first little kittens named was     Keiarliya the second Pippa and Roxy. All the kittens went to build their own home. the first little kitten made a house out of hay the second little kitten mad e a house out of wood and the thred little kitten made a house out of red clay bricks. The big bad dog pretends to be there mum “let me in I have some food for you so let me in” “not by the fur of my chiny chin chin” youled the little kitten. The big bad dog pretends to be there mum “let me in I have some food for you so let me in” not by the fur of my chiny chin chin. So the big bad dog went to the third house were all the kittens were. The big bad dog was inside the chimney and the big bad dog went in the little brick house all the little kittens were screaming out “mother mother” “the dog is being mean to us” but the mum didn't hear them. The dog scratched all the little kittens in the face. The mum finally heard  the dogs knows. I hoped you liked my story.                                       

Ice Cream

Mmmm! Milk! Do you like chocolate butter and ice cream? All these things are made out of butter.  Today I will be showing everyone how to make chilly ice cream.

Ingredients:

Ice

½ cup of milk

30g sugar

2 cups of salt

One  zip lock bag

¼ cap of vanilla essence

These are the steps

STEP 1 Pour the chunky ice into the big zip lock bag.

STEP 3 Get a small zip lock bag.

STEP 4 Pour 30 sugar into a zip lock bag.  

STEP 5 Tip ¼ cap of vanilla essence.

STEP 6 Add the milk to the vanilla essence and sugar.

STEP 7 Shut the zip lock bag and put the zip lock bag.

STEP 8 Shake the zip lock bag so the ice cream can turn out.

STEP 9 Eat it mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.       

I am proud of my ice cream waiting because I have worked very hard on it. Something that challenged me was pooting(putting) it in order.

Art

I have been learning about perspective art
perspective art is kind of like 3-D art but colorful.

I am proud of my art because I have worked hard on it and I could manage my distractions. 

When I do my art I go very slow so it can be my personal best.

I have lent (learnt) how to do a I poem. An I am poem is a poem about you.

I am proud of my poem because I have worked very hard to complete my poem and use really good vocab. I have enjoyed writing my poem because it is all about myself.

Detail

I have been working on adding detail to my writing. Detail is the extra bits that make a picture for the reader. My best bit if detail is While I was getting ready for school my cat creeped in and  had something in it’s mouth. It was a brown  speckled feather with slobber all over it.
My goal is to use vocabulary. Some of my best words are speckled slobber pooped chewed

This is my writing

“Meow” my cat said to me when he was hungry. My cat looks  a little bit like a tiger but, he is black and white. his eyes are like a Green leaf. when  I woke up I had to get out of bed, so I could get my cat fed. While I was getting ready for school my cat creeped in and  had something in it’s mouth. It was a brown  speckled feather with slobber all over it. It was flying across the lounge and then it went into the side of my bookshelf. I was getting scared because I didn't want my cat to eat it all up. It keeps going to the side of my bookshelf it flow over my head ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh it pooped and weed all over my head ‘ow’ I said to myself. I (tried) to get it outside but the bird did not go outside. I chried(tried) to get the bird out of my cat’s mouth .my cat closed its jor (jaw) rely tite(tight). I ran to the cochin(kitchen) and got july(jelly) meat I bot it into the dining room and put it in frunt of my greedy cats noes. He droped the bird out of his mouth so I picked the chooed(chewed) bird up and put it out side and it floo (flew)away.    

Camp

  This is one of the activities at camp. It was so cold but I still jumped into the tube . It was so fun tubing down the river that I just wanted to come back again.  

 Me and my friend were playing twister and then Mrs Ramsay joined. 

  me and  my friend's  were wating  far  the water slide.  The water slide was so so mach  fun. When I went down the water slide I went  from side to side and when I got to the end the water went all over my face and up my nose.

For our free time me and my friends played elastics outside.

My highlight at camp was the food factor because Mrs H made it sound like it was heaps of gross things but the food was yum.

Something that challenged me was going on tube down the river.

My favorite book

I have been lerning to make a report about a favorite book. A favorite book is a book that you like. I am proud of this because I have been working on this and I think that I have made people want to read my book.

Something that challenged me was typing all my information.  
I am proud of my presentation because I have been working on this and I have been trying very hard to make it the best it can be. next time I will ask for help if it is too tricky.
